Get Free Valencian Chemistry Textbooks From the University

Get Free Valencian Chemistry Textbooks From the UniversityIf you want to find information about Valencia chemistry and whether it is worth your while or not, the most important thing is that it is possible to get your hands on free copies of the latest Valencia chemistry textbooks from the University. The courses are presented in the traditional book format and online, so there is no excuse for you not to obtain free copies of the latest Valencia chemistry textbooks.A good chemistry book will go through a lot of experimentation and develop an understanding of certain concepts. However, we all know that books are of no use if you do not know what you are reading about.Your self-study is going to be your best friend if you are serious about study. These days, there are many online sites where you can check your notes, check your answers and do it all without having to visit a library. You will not have to pay anything to get the book for your own use. Also, a good chemistry book should include some guidelines about how to carry out experiments and how to follow the instructions, for example, if you are reading about a compound and trying to make it, you should know the name of the compound, its structures and its properties. This way, you are able to learn about the elements and compounds. You also need to understand the concepts and formulas which you have learned from the course. An important consideration is that there is no doubt that some courses in a university can be hard to understand and in order to acquire a decent education, you may have to take up a few more courses. However, you have to be prepared for more classes because it will be difficult for you to put your study into practice as soon as you have finished your courses. However, there is no point in putting your learning into the hands of others. You have to put your studies into your own timetable, which means making sure that you go back to check your notes, prepare answers and so on. For this re ason, you should not forget to check your notes at least once every day.You have to remember that this is not an easy subject and it is usually best to try to learn maths using algebra. However, if you have chosen a difficult subject, then you should avoid going over the regular curriculum and opt for non-calculus subjects.

Understanding Guitar Tabs the Easy Way.

Understanding Guitar Tabs the Easy Way. How, then, Do You Read Guitar Tablature? ChaptersWhat is a Guitar Tab?Special Symbols for TabsWhere Can You Find Easy Guitar Tabs?If you want to learn how to play the guitar but you don't know any music theory and reading music is impossible for you, there’s a great alternative. These we call guitar tabs - or tablature.Whatever your nationality or playing level, guitar tabs are easy to read for everyone. They are not dependent on the vocabulary of sheet music, they are pictorial, and they are relevant to classical guitar, acoustic guitar, and electric guitar alike.A lot of guitar players use them because they are simple, straightforward, and get you knowing how to play guitar - and how to play your favorite guitar songs - in no time. So, how do you read guitar tabs? Are there universal symbols for everyone to understand? Are there online guitar tutorials to learn how to read tabs - or are they best picked up in a formal guitar lesson or guitar course?Superprof has put it all together for you so that you can learn this meth od of playing the guitar. It’s no longer necessary to learn to read music in order to play the guitar. Nowadays guitarists often read their music on tabs.Although they have a few drawbacks, tabs are quick and easy to learn and you can share many different types of   guitar music with fellow musicians. If you want to learn licks, guitar chords, a chord progression, or the pentatonic scale, tab is probably the easiest way for the beginner guitar player to do it!If you’ve already taken a few guitar lessons for beginners, then you’ll know that reading tabs is necessary for any guitarist worthy of the title - as it is an important way, alongside standard notation, to share written music with other guitar players. What’s Tab Then?Tabs are a specialized and simplified way of reading music for a specific instrument. You can find tabs for piano, guitar, bass guitar, and even drums. In terms of guitar, tab provides a visual representation of the fretboard. Unlike standard music notation, which uses a stave of five lines with the placement of a symbol on a different line signifying a different pitch, tab gives you a number on one of six lines. The six lines represent the fret board - and the number shows on which fret you should place your finger. So, if there is a '1' on the top line of the tab, you put your index finger in that box on the guitar neck on the thinnest string. If there is no number on a string, don't play that string! The benefit of this, for guitarists, is that the notes of a different guitar chord, arpeggio, or lead guitar lick, can be played in a different place on the neck of the guitar. Standard notation does not show the different places where these can be played - leaving that decision up to the musician - but tab does, showing the best guitar position or the most easy guitar position to play this at.Reading the tab on its own isn’t difficult. You read it from left to right just like any other piece of music, and when you get to the end of the line you go down to the next one and continue following the notes in the same direction. In fact, learning to read tabs is as essential to learning rhythm  and both are fundamental guitar playing!Playing Chords from a Guitar Tab.As we said, each string is represented by a line on the tab, meaning that there are six lines. But, as we know about the guitar, we don't just play one string at a time.Rather, the six strings of a guitar were designed to be played together. We can read the main chords - power chords, barre chords, open chords (the most basic chords), jazz chords - by looking at where on the tab different numbers on different lines are presented as one above the other. This will tell you that they need to be played simultaneously.Once you have developed your dexterity through the basic chord shapes, tab provides a really easy way to see how chords are constructed all over the neck. You just need to follow the tab and see where to put your fingers! The Quirks of Guitar TabsNonet heless, guitar tabs do have several unique features of which you must be aware:Most tabs don’t have any indication regarding the speed or rhythm at which you should play. The ones that do - that you can see in anything from jazz guitar to rhythm guitar, chord progressions to guitar solos - use the rhythmic notation of standard musical notation. The tab is broken up into measures, but it is very rare to know the rhythm to play the guitar. The best advice is to really listen to the piece of music that you’re trying to play. Notice how it is structured, and how many counts are in each measure (ninety of rock, pop and folk songs have four beats, or are in 4/4 time).Recognize guitar tabs to improve your guitar playing!Symbols that denote rhythm are written like this: ‘w’ for a whole note, ‘h’ for a half note, ‘e’ for an eighth note, and ’s’ for a sixteenth note.If there’s a dot after a letter like ’w’, that means that you need to hold the note for half of its leng th again.Special Symbols for TabsWhether you want to play Jimi Hendrix or Eric Clapton, Metallica or Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd, you're going to come across some strange notation that you might not immediately recognise. You’ll notice that there are many different symbols on tabs that tell you how to play the notes or link them together. It’s important to learn to recognize the symbols by heart so that reading them becomes second nature. This way you can perfectly reproduce your favorite songs and play your arpeggios on the guitar - without having to stop and think about what each one means when you are playing whichever song. These are different guitar techniques or guitar tricks that make up the more sophisticated parts of rock guitar, blues guitar, and solo guitar. Here are a few of the most common symbols.Hammer-OnsTo play a hammer-on, you need to play a string, let it vibrate, and forcefully place, or 'hammer', another finger on a fret on the same string. What h appens in this hammering is that you play a different, higher, note without actually plucking it with your right hand.Hammer-ons are often represented by the letter ‘h’, and are written between the first fret you play and the one on which you’re doing a hammer on. (for example, 4h9 means strum the 4th fret and then the 9th).Sometimes the ‘h’ can also be replaced by a ^ (4^9).Pull-OffsPlaying a pull-off is the opposite of a hammer-on.To play a pull-off, pull your fingers away quickly from the fret in order to create a lower note.Learn to play with guitar tabs.Pull-offs are generally represented by ‘p’ and are placed between the first fret you play and the one on which you’re performing a pull-off.An example could be written as either 8p6.Practise your tabs during bass guitar lessons.BendsBends are performed by pushing a string after playing a note, in order to change the note while staying on the same fret.Bends are generally indicated by a curved arrow and then a not ation like ‘ ½â€™ or  â€˜ ¼â€™ or ‘full’ to tell you how to change the note.If the arrow curves back on itself, or is marked by an ‘R’ for ‘bend and return’, that means that you should go back to the original note after you perform the bend.Another way of writing a bend is with ‘b’ where it is placed between the first note to play, and the second that sounds due to the bend (for example 10b12).The letter ‘r’ for return could also be added to this combination, telling you to return to the original pitch (8b10r8).SlidesTo play a slide, you slide along the string from one fret to another, either to get a higher sound (slide up) or a lower one (slide down), by continuing to hold the string down.Slide ups are noted by a ‘/‘  and a slide down as ‘’  as with 6/86.You can also play slides  legato, meaning a slide where you don’t use your pick for the first note of the slide. The note sounds natural, without any effect.Slide is a symbol on guitar tab. Some guita rists think that you should also avoid using a pick on the base note, but the most important thing is to play without leaving a gap between the two notes.Another feature of the slide is the slide and shift, where you play a note on the same string instead of on another string, so that only one sounds at once. This will also help you to avoid having to change your guitar strings too often. This is marked in tabs as ’S’.Less common symbolsOther less common symbols are also important to recognize in tabs. Recognizing them is an important part of getting the right sound as you work on improving your guitar technique.'~'VibratoBend and relax a string to modulate the pitch slightly on long held notes.'S' or 'T'Slap, or ThumbA technique common in bass guitar where you slap the string with the thumb of your right hand.'PM'Palm MuteWith your right hand, you muffle the strings at the bridge - to give a crunchier sound.'X'MuteHere you will want to completely stop the sound of a particular st ring.' /'TremoloA number between two slashes requires you to use the whammy bar - changing the pitch of the note by the value of the number noted.'t'TappingWhere you tap on the neck with your right hand.To learn to read guitar tabs, the most important thing to do is to stay motivated at guitar.Where Can You Find Easy Guitar Tabs? The internet is swimming with different guitar tabs to help people play songs. The songs to tab ratio is fairly huge, with hundreds of different tabs available for every different song. For a first guitar tab, you can just pick the best reviewed ones. But, as you improve your ear training, you'll be able to discern the difference in quality of tabs by just listening. But, in the meantime, here are some great places to find some easy tabs. The Internet. As we said, the internet is full of guitar tabs - which you can either find in Notepad-style text, or else in specialised computer programmes. These latter, such as Guitar Pro or TablEdit, are hugely useful things that c ombine tab with traditional sheet music. They can play back the tabs to you too, so you know exactly how you are supposed to play the rhythm.A Guitar Teacher. If you start guitar lessons, either online guitar lessons or in person, one of the main ways that your teacher will aid you is by giving you music to learn. And if you are playing acoustic guitars or electric guitars, you will be provided with tab (classical guitarists usually use standard notation!).Alongside all the theory of the major chord and major scale, and the techniques of fingerstyle, fingerpicking, and improvisation, your teacher will be able to guide you through practicing tabs too. Knowing whether to use your middle finger or first finger on the first string or second string, and how best to develop your guitar skills using tab.Make Tabs Yourself. If you are feeling ambitious, you can try and make the tabs yourself. This comes from listening to the music you want to play and writing it down. This process is known as transcription - and it can be the only way to learn some songs, as sometimes the tabs aren't available!Give it a go!

The 2 Most Important Things Singers Always Forget to Do

The 2 Most Important Things Singers Always Forget to Do Suzy S. Maintaining your vocal health is incredibly important if you want to go far with your singing! Its easy to forget the basics so check yourself with these two tips from Glendale, CA teacher Ben M As singers, were very sensitive about the way our voices feel. Even the slightest change in the strength, tone, or comfort of the voice is detected by a singer and can lead to an array of concerns about vocal health. But so often when students report problems with their voice, such as vocal fatigue, hoarseness, difficulty singing, and a rough, gritty feeling, they haven’t given much thought to the two single most important factors to maintaining a healthy voice: sleep and hydration. 1. Have you REALLY had enough water today? Let’s be honest â€" the answer is probably no. But understanding why hydration is so important to maintaining good vocal health may encourage you to drink that extra glass of water. Have you ever seen a video of vocal cords at work? If not, go to YouTube and do a search for a “laryngoscope.” One of the first things you’ll probably notice about the vocal cords is that they are slippery and wet â€" they have to be, in order to vibrate freely and create a smooth, healthy sound. How do you think the sound and feel of your voice would change if your vocal cords weren’t quite as hydrated? Well, think about your skin when it becomes dried out. Instead of appearing supple, smooth and glowy, it becomes tight, uneven, and dull. The same is true of your voice. Hydration works from the inside out â€" replenishing your entire body so that your tissue is healthy and flexible. Remember â€" hydrating the voice is not like applying a topical medication! You can’t just take a big swig of water before a long performance and expect your cords to stay hydrated. The only way to hydrate vocal cords is to hydrate your entire body â€" and that means drinking a lot of water each day. Individual needs vary, but it is recommended that women consume 2.2 liters of water a day, while men need 3 liters. 2. Did you get enough sleep? Think of it this way â€"  your voice is a muscle, just like any other in your body. Each time you lift weights, do yoga, or go for a run, do you notice that additional tone right away? Probably not, unless you imagined it, because your body first has to go through a reparative process in which it rebuilds the muscle tissue you broke down during the workout. The same process â€" albeit on a much more delicate level â€" happens to your voice each time you use it. And without that extended period of rest after a vocal workout, your voice doesn’t have time to repair itself and reap all the benefits of your training. This is where the sleep comes in. According to findings from Harvard Medical School, “many of the major restorative functions in the body like muscle growth, tissue repair, protein synthesis, and growth hormone release occur mostly, or in some cases only, during sleep.” So, if you’re looking to gain any sort of endurance (for those long live sets or strenuous studio sessions), the first step is giving your body plenty of time to recoup. The National Sleep Foundation concedes that there is no “magic number” for sleep. Sleep and hydration needs are as individual as vocal needs â€" they vary from person to person, and it’s up to each singer to determine what is working the best for him or her. Once you have implemented these two important staples into your daily routine, you can begin improving your voice with a teacher who can identify areas of improvement for you. Vocal exercises, posture, breath support, proper technique â€" these are all important to learn and implement. But first, let’s make sure you are setting yourself up for success by preparing your body to be a platform for success. Ben M. teaches music performance  and  singing  in Glendale, CA. He attended Northeastern University and is currently studying voice at Brett Manning Studios. Learn more about Ben here! Interested in Private Lessons? The Beginners Guide to Geometry

The Beginner’s Guide to Geometry Your Complete Guide to Beginner’s Geometry ChaptersThe Bases of Geometry: Where Studies BeganBasic Geometry Equations and ExamplesOnline Resources to Further Your Geometry StudiesHow You Can Find The Best Geometry TutorWe hear geometry-related words all the time: ‘what’s your angle?’ and ‘everyone should eat three square meals a day!’ and ‘she ran circles around me!’, often with little thought to how fundamental those shapes are to the discipline called geometry. So ubiquitous is geometry to our daily lives that it is downright strange for students to dread having to calculate the area and volume of a shape or the circumference of a circle â€" let alone the lengths and degrees of arcs.Still, there is a substantial phobia of anything algebraic, be it solving an equation or performing calculus. Yes, those are related to geometry too.Geometry doesn’t exist as a standalone mathematical discipline, it is intimately intertwined with every branch and facet of maths, from algebra to trigonometry, and extending all the way to the highest of math specialities, the aforementioned calculus.Did you know that geometry is intrinsic to computer coding, ciphering and communication, too?Did you also know that, if not for the continuous application of geometry, the world as we know it would screech to a halt? Before such a doomsday scenario can come to pass, let’s take a close look at the history of geometry and the resultant equations that high school math students struggle with to this day.No need to worry, though. As always, your Superprof is here with handy tips and tricks for you to learn geometry most effortlessly! However, he wasn’t the world’s first geometer.Nor, for that matter, was Pythagoras, he who gave us the memorable solution for calculating the hypotenuse of right triangles â€" and, by extension, a way to solve any number of equations that involve a perpendicular line and a base.Food for thought: the Great Pyramid of Giza was built around 2650BC. Pythagoras lived from around 570BC to about 495BC and Euclid was born around 300BC.We must accept that it took some knowledge of geometry to design and construct those magnificent polyhedra (a geometrical term for pyramids); builders had to have calculated the area of the base and its corresponding height and a variety of other factors.Likewise, we must accept that Pythagoras walked the earth about 200 years before Euclid was born because ancient records indicate it. Putting two and two together...It hardly takes a mathematician to conclude that Euclid is clearly not the first to train his brain to all things geometric. However, he was the first to formally outline geometric precepts into a single volume, a book of thirteen chapters that forms the basis of what we call today Euclidean geometry. That is the type of geometry we learn in school, in case you were wondering.Naturally, if Euclidean is a type of geometry, that suggests that there are other types, right?Indeed, once you master the Pythagorean Theorem and the formulas for the area and perimeter of shapes, you may consider furthering your geometric studies in:Non-Euclidean Geometry: also called elliptic geometry, concerns itself with familiar theorems applied to 3D shapesAnalytic Geometry studies geometric figures using a system of coordinatesDiffere ntial Geometry uses differential equations to solve a variety of unresolved postulatesTopology deals with properties of spaces; their connectedness and compactnessComputational Geometry is used in image processing, auto-CAD and medical imaging, among othersAlgebraic Geometry studies geometry using concepts of commutative algebrathis is the type of geometry used in string theory â€" a theory used to address fundamental questions in physicsClearly, geometry is far from being a reviled part of your maths curriculum â€" a useless part, you might aver, seeing as we have tools to measure an acute angle without having to calculate it.Of course, you are perfectly right; what’s the point of learning how to calculate the area of a right triangle or a parallelogram when there are apps to do it for you…Unless you consider basic geometry to be a door, swinging open to let you in on further mysteries of the earth and space. That being the case, you really need to master all of the bases of geo metry. Geometry provides a formula for calculating any shape from an isosceles triangle to polygons Image by Gerd Altmann from PixabayBasic Geometry Equations and ExamplesAs mentioned before, one great mind (Euclid) did not simply wake up one day with a burning desire to write a book about things he thought were true with absolutely no evidence or concurrence; a book revered still today, whose theories have been proved over and over again. His was perhaps more of a compilation of previously held, maybe even previously proven ideas.Nobody is saying that Euclid found a way to profit from other geometers’ work; there is no doubt he too put forth great effort in solving some of geometry’s most persistent mysteries. However, we should also give him credit for taking the time to compile all of these theorems into a book that is widely held to be the most important book of science in the history of humankind. The language is archaic, originally translated from Greek into Latin, and then, as the t ext made its way into Europe, rather roughly translated into French and German and, finally, English, it expounds on certain simple truths.A line segment may be continued as a straight line indefinitely - EuclidYou may consider that postulate self-evident â€" why wouldn’t such a line be able to continue indefinitely? But then, back when the world was new and there were no such things as laser levels, scanners or theodolites, such things were not known and had to be established as axioms. As the discipline developed, so too did the number of ways to prove new postulates through calculation. We have a companion article filled with the simplest to the more complex geometric equations just waiting for you to discover...Online Resources to Further Your Geometry StudiesBy now, we’ve hopefully established that geometry is an ancient discipline, one full of existing uses and laden with the possibility for future innovations.Somehow, against all odds, you now find yourself interested in a career involving geometry and you want to be able to bust out formulas to calculate geometric constructions as casually as you eat breakfast.Lucky for you, there is plenty of help to be had in cyberspace.Besides reference standards like Britannica and Wikipedia, and beyond any school support site you may subscribe to and anything your school has put online, there are hordes of other pages that address geometry at any level â€" from basic geometry to university-level materials. For one, it would be quite handy to have a maths dictionary to look up all of the terms that define your geometry problems, such as ‘angle bisector’ and ‘interior angle’.You may even want to consult the Math Is Fun dictionary to get a concise definition of what a cosine represents. The site mentioned above is truly a great resource but the one that really covers all things math is called Homeschool Math.Targeted to American students who are homeschooled, it covers anything you could ever want insofar as supplemental geometry information: definitions and equations, formulae and constructions. You can even find geometry worksheets to practise geometry independent of anything you get in school! You may check that most helpful resource for further links to geometry study websites; we also invite you to discover other online resources we compiled. Working with a geometry tutor can help you sort through geometry word problems; a common stumbling block for budding geometers Image by Daniela Dimitrova from PixabayHow You Can Find The Best Geometry TutorEven the best students occasionally need a helping hand. When all else fails and you simply can’t find your way through all of the geometric shapes you’re confronted with, you may just need someone to sit down with you, maybe offer a different perspective on your particular area of difficulty.Whether for ongoing support, meaning somebody works with you regularly or you just need a boost â€" someone who will present geometry concepts in a new way, a geometry tutor would surely be your best bet.You may ask your teacher or perhaps a fellow student if s/he might know someone well-versed in plane geometry or coordinate geometry â€" whatever your particular stumbling block is, that could help you a bit.You may also check with your local library. Often, they host homework help sessions one or two afternoons per week with qualified tutors. If neither of those options suits you, you could go on the search for a tutor near you â€" just beware that, if you type that phrase into your favourite search engine, you’ll be overwhelmed with the listings it returns! If you’re after efficiency and convenience â€" and, of course, stellar results in your tutor search and in geometry, you should bypass all other searches and head straight to Superprof.Superprof has more than 22,000 geometry tutors scattered across the UK; surely one is close to you? Or you could always opt for online lessons…You might think that such a tutor would be out of your price range but, with an average rate of £11 per hour of instruction, you could hardly go wrong, especially when you consider that most Superprof tutors offer their first hour of instruction for free!Geometry is as vital today as it was when the pyramids were built; more so because much of our lives, from the GPS guiding us to our d estinations to the radars keeping air traffic flowing. That is why keen minds like yours are needed to continue making great advances in this mathematical discipline we call geometry.Keep your compass and straightedge handy; you’re going to need them!

How the NACE Defines Career Readiness

How the NACE Defines Career Readiness Theres so much for teens to do to get ready for collegeboth academically and otherwise. Youve probably heard that college is more challenging than high school and you certainly know, maybe from personal experience, that college professors expect that students are intrinsically motivated. At Huntington Learning Center, we believe there are several traits that make a student college ready: Independent Adaptable Resourceful Skilled at studying/planning to study Analytical Skilled at prioritizing time and multiple responsibilities At this stage of your childs life, youre focused on helping him or her become college ready. The goal of college, of course, is to prepare your child to enter the real world and succeed there. Yet, what exactly is career readiness? And are the skills and aptitudes that students need for college similar to those that are essential for success in the real world? The National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE)* defines career readiness as the attainment and demonstration of requisite competencies that broadly prepare college graduates for a successful transition into the workplace. Based on research among employers, they defined these eight competencies as being associated with career readiness: Critical thinking/problem solving: Just like in college, where college professors invite students to express their ideas, analyze information and make connections, the workplace requires that people exercise sound reasoning to analyze issues, make decisions, and overcome problems. NACE explains that career-ready professionals are able to obtain, interpret, and use knowledge, facts, and data in this critical thinking/problem solving process. Oral/written communications: The ability to communicate is critical in every professional setting. NACE shares that those who are capable of articulating their thoughts and ideas clearly and effectively in written and oral forms are ready for the real world. People need to be able to write and edit, speak to others and express themselves. Teamwork/collaboration: In just about every workplace, people must be able to work with others. NACE says collaborative relationships with colleagues and customers are important, and people need to be able to work within a team structure and manage conflicts. Digital technology: Todays workforce operates in a fast-paced, data-driven world. To be ready for that environment, people need to demonstrate effective adaptability to new and emerging technologies. Leadership: Whether people become CEOs or nurses, teachers or doctors, abilities such as leveraging the strengths of others to achieve common goals and using interpersonal skills to coach and develop others are very valuable. People with common leadership skillsusing empathy to motivate others and delegating properlytend to thrive. Professionalism/work ethic: Every industry, every job and every workplace benefits from employees who take accountability and have effective work habits. NACE explains the importance of punctuality and time management, as well as the impact of integrity and ethical behavior. Career management: To truly succeed in a career, people must be able to identify and articulate their strengths, knowledge and experiences. Its also important that people know where they could grow professionally. Career-ready people are skilled at pursuing the steps necessary to advance their careers and self-advocating for opportunities in their workplaces. Global/Intercultural Fluency: The world is global. Todays professionals should be respectful and appreciative of those coming from cultures, races and backgrounds different than their own. In life, people need to be able to demonstrate inclusiveness and sensitivity. Being ready for college is the first step toward career readiness, and the two stages go hand in hand. If your teen is approaching college and youd like to ensure he or she is prepared, contact Huntington at 1-800 CAN LEARN. * NACE is the leading source of information on the employment of the college educated. English Conversation Class The Ethics of Eating

English Conversation Class The Ethics of Eating This weeks English conversation class is about the ethics of eating. There are a lot of questions these days about right and wrong when it comes to how we feed ourselves. Some feel that factory farming is unhealthy and inhumane, while others think it is the only way to provide food to the billions of people in the world. Some people feel that organic food is the only thing to eat, both for health and environmental reasons, while others think it is a waste of money.Do you think about eating ethically? What does eating ethically mean to you? Is being vegetarian or even vegan a more humane, environmentally friendly way to eat? Do you buy organic foods? Is large scale industrial farming necessary, or is it an unsustainable practice that will eventually leave us all hungry? 6 Ways to Incorporate Fall Colors Into Your Decor

6 Ways to Incorporate Fall Colors Into Your Decor Image via Pexels.com The key is choosing colors that compliment your living room furniture, but here’s the good news:  the fall color palette goes far beyond your basic reds, greens, oranges, and yellows. Anything from beige to deep red wine to navy will have you ready for the season. Don’t be afraid to mix and match cute patterns, such as plaids and stripes. Suede, velvet, wool, and burlap are also great for adding some texture to your furniture. Consider buying a soft fur rug to bring the whole room together  as long as it’s faux fur! 2.  Add big pops of color with small accessories You can incorporate fall into your décor simply by accessorizing. Start with your lighting; a lampshade can make all the difference. Bright colors or hand-painted designs add great mood lighting. If you’re feeling crafty, all you need is a solid-colored shade, some paint, and a small brush to DIY a beautiful fall-inspired lampshade. Lanterns and string lights are just enough to brighten up any corner of your home as well. While metals are sometimes overlooked when considering fall color schemes, they add elegance to any home. Brass, gold, and silver vases filled with bouquets of mums make bold accent pieces. Image via Pexels.com You can’t exactly bring real woodland creatures into your home, but ceramic figurines look just as cute and are perfect for fall. The best part is that they can go anywhere, whether it be on shelves, atop a fireplace, or on end tables. Create your own little forest full of foxes, squirrels, owls, and wolves.  Pier 1 Imports has a wide selection of sculptures, figurines, frames, and more. 3.  Channel your inner outdoorsman with wooden pieces For a rustic look, add some dark woods to your home. If you already have wooden floors, you’re already halfway there! Complete the look with a sheepskin rug (remember the faux). If you don’t have wooden floors, this look can still be achieved with accessories like lamps with a wooden base, picture frames, or DIY plywood signs. In homes equipped with a wood-burning fireplace, there’s no need to hide the logs this season! Display them in an iron firewood rack to make your living room feel like a cozy cabin. Fall can also be the time to incorporate some bigger changes; it’s the perfect excuse to bring the wooden wardrobe into your bedroom that you’ve been eyeing for weeks. 4.  Get cooking with earthy tableware Rather than buying sets of plates, autumn is the time to mix individuals for a folk-inspired look, according to Interior Goods Direct. Image via Pexels.com The colors of fall work well with each other no matter the combination, so don’t be afraid to choose two (such as orange and navy) and create your own custom set from there. Alternatively, you can pick one solid color (navy, for example) as a base for your set and incorporate patterned pieces of the same shade. Table runners and centerpieces are simple options for adding a fall spin to your kitchen. If you don’t mind a basic look, the cheapest table runners can be custom-made by cutting a thick strip of burlap. Add an intricate vase as your centerpiece and the transformation is complete. 5.  Invite autumn inside with pumpkins, hay, and leaves Why not incorporate the items that inspire you with their colors? You can get so creative with natural fall elements. Pumpkins can be carved or painted, big or small, and they can go anywhere in your home. You can turn any pumpkin into anything, from a spooky Halloween look to an elegant piece of art. Image via Pexels.com The same goes for leaves collect some fallen foliage from your backyard and give it new life. Create a framed collage or a string of garland. If you’d rather go down the artificial route, Michaels has a selection of seasonal artificial decorating supplies. Corn stalks and hay bales can decorate your front porch, or become the base of a big wreath for your front door. Add some apples, pumpkins, or even a small scarecrow to the display. Your house will be autumn-ready inside and out! Looking for an easy way to furnish your off-campus apartment? Renting furniture from CORT saves you time and money.
